Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They let the site recognise your browser between page loads — which is what keeps you signed in and keeps your cart from emptying when you move between pages. Similar technologies such as local storage and pixels work in much the same way, and this policy covers them too.

We group cookies into four categories. The first two are needed for the Platform to work; the last two are used only where you agree to them.

• •Necessary — required for the site to function. They handle signing in, keeping your session secure, your shopping cart, checkout and fraud prevention. These cannot be switched off, because the Platform cannot work without them.
• •Functional — remember your choices so you do not have to repeat them, such as your cookie preferences, recently viewed items and display preferences.
• •Analytics — help us understand how the Platform is used, for example which pages are popular and where people abandon a checkout, so we can fix what is not working. The information is aggregated rather than tied to you as an individual.
• •Marketing — used to measure how effective our campaigns are and, where enabled, to show you relevant products on other sites.

Some cookies are set by the services we rely on rather than by MarkitMall itself — for example an analytics provider, or a payment gateway's own secure pages during checkout. Those providers process the data under their own privacy notices, which we encourage you to read. We do not allow third parties to use cookies on the Platform for their own independent marketing purposes.

• •You can change your preferences at any time on the Cookie Preferences page, where functional, analytics and marketing cookies can be switched on or off individually.
• •You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you see the cookies a site has stored and remove them.
• •Blocking necessary cookies will break parts of the Platform — you may not be able to sign in or complete a checkout.
• •If you clear your browser storage, your cookie preferences will be reset and we will ask you again.

Necessary cookies are used because they are required to provide the service you have asked for. For functional, analytics and marketing cookies we rely on your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time on the Cookie Preferences page, and withdrawing it will not affect anything done before you withdrew it.

If we add a new category of cookie or start using a new provider, we will update this page and the date shown at the top of it, and — where the change is significant — ask for your consent again.
